Young Adults - Cambridge exam preparation courses

Cambridge exams are now recognised as a linguistic competency within the Baccalaureate starting 2010, according to Decision no. 5794/29.10.2009, issued by the Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation.
We offer both intensive and non-intensive Cambridge exam for our Young Adults courses. An intensive course means the course would be 9 weeks long with 2x2 hours per week running between 27 April and 25 June, finishing in line with when the Cambridge exams will take place.
For Young Adults 3 and Young Adults 4 levels we offer PET training, Level 5 is Young Adults FCE (First Certificate in English), level 6 is Young Adults CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) and level 7 is Young Adults CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English).

Schedule:

Non-intensive courses are twice a week per 12 week term. According to your child’s level of English classes may be available:

  9.00-10.30, 10.45-12.15 or 16.00-17.30
Some levels may be available on Saturday afternoon

Intensive courses are twice a week per 9 week term. According to your child’s level of English classes may be available:

08.30 or 15.30
HOW DO WE ASSESS YOUR PROGRESS?

We believe that you will gain most from your course through a system of continuous monitoring and assessment. You are assessed on speaking, writing, effort, participation and a mid-term and end of term progress test. This will give you a clear idea of how you are progressing in each area and will also show your teacher what areas you need help in. At the end of each term you will get a certificate with a grade for each area assessed:

Grade
A Excellent
B Very Good
C Good
D Narrow pass
E Cannot be assessed / Fail

You will also get an overall grade which reflects your performance throughout the term, including the final test.

HOW CAN I REGISTER FOR A COURSE?

Before you can register for an English course, we need to find out your current level of English. Please visit our registration webpage to see when our next registration period is and to see the schedule for level testing. The level test consists of a short written test (30-40 minutes) and an interview with a teacher (5-10 minutes). After the level test, one of our Customer Services team will give you information about the schedules available for the class which our teacher has recommended for you. If we have a class at a time suitable for you and with available places, you can then register. (Places in classes are sold on a first come, first served basis and availability is limited.)
