All of our passionate and dedicated teachers meet the highest international standards with formal qualifications and extensive experience in teaching academic English and preparing students for exams such as IELTS.

Our minimum requirements for teachers are:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent qualification
  • A certificate level qualification in teaching English as a foreign language such as Cambridge University CELTA or Trinity College London CertTESOL
  • At least two years’ teaching experience
  • High proficiency in the use of the English language

Adriana has been teaching English since 2005. Before joining British Council Romania in 2012, she taught Romanian for foreigners, General English and professional courses for corporate clients in Romania. She has also been a Cambridge English examiner since 2012.

“I love teaching exam classes and helping my students realise their ambitions to live, study, and work in other countries.”

Born in Dundee, Scotland, Ian has been teaching English since 2010. He has taught in Belgium, the UK, and Thailand before joining British Council Romania in 2015. Ian has the PGDE (Secondary Education), CELTA and TYLEC qualifications, and is an experienced examiner and exams teacher. He has also developed materials for the British Council’s IELTS courses.
