The fourth edition of the Bucharest International Dance Film Festival will take place between 6 - 9 September 2018, hosted by six locations in Bucharest.

[RE]TRACING - „The fourth edition of the festival comes in a time in which we are forced to fight for normality, rethinking the coordinates of the past in order to understand the future. Dance and film meet on equal grounds to showcase stories about resistance, persistence and courage." Simona Deaconescu (BIDFF artistic director)

Events will be held at Cinema Elvire Popesco, CNDB - Centrul Naţional al Dansului Bucureşti, DESCHIS Gastrobar, Deschis Atelier, Linotip - Centru Independent Coregrafic and Qreator by IQOS. See the full schedule on the festival website, below.

Programme highlights

  • DANCER, directed by Steven Canton, a documentary about Sergei Polunin's life in the opening of the festival;
  • The exhibition and performance by Clyde Chabot, A MUSEUM (THEATRE), a theatrical and photographic installation; 
  • IRIS - a performance by Johanna Nuutinen | BIDFF # 4, presented for the first time in Romania;
  • The documentary Hail the New Puritan, a fictional portrayal by Charles Atlas of the charismatic choreographer Michael Clark.
