British Council is always seeking innovative ways to support teachers in their professional development and is committed to unconditionally supporting English language teachers in the development of Romanian pupils.

Join us on 18 October 2025 for an enlightening event designed specifically for English teachers, organised in partnership with Constanta County School Inspectorate and Fischer International.

Workshop Details:

In today’s dynamic language classrooms, fostering deeper learning goes beyond simply developing reading and listening skills. It requires creating tasks that not only engage learners but also encourage critical thinking, reflection, and meaningful interaction with the text or audio.

This session will explore practical strategies for crafting reading and listening activities that are both purposeful and relevant to students' needs and interests. We will discuss how to design tasks that challenge students to connect personally with the material, explore different perspectives, and apply what they learn in authentic contexts. Participants will gain insights into task types that promote active listening and reading.

By the end of this session, participants will have a toolkit of innovative strategies that can be implemented immediately in their own classrooms, to make reading and listening experiences more engaging, thought-provoking, and impactful for their learners.
