British Council invites 40 teachers of any subject to attend a 4-day course (30 hours) on the subject of “Teaching and Learning in Difficult Times”. The course will be held in English, at the British Council venue in Bucharest (Calea Dorobantilor 14), from Thursday, 27 October to Sunday, 30 October 2022. Registrations are open to Ukrainian teachers now teaching Ukrainian pupils in Romania and to Romanian teachers who currently have Ukrainian refugee pupils in their classrooms. Working with the trainers Cristiana Osan and Chris Sowton, teachers will learn how to respond to the immediate needs of children who experienced trauma.
The participation is free of charge. We aim to select 20 teachers from Bucharest and proximity and 20 teachers coming from other parts of Romania (for those, we will cover transportation costs and provide meals and accommodation).
All sessions and discussions will be in English. Participants are expected to have at least an average level of English, this being a selection criterion when assessing the applications.
