The event brings together sessions on critical thinking, receptive and productive skills, academic writing, writing development and assessment, with practical ideas and strategies that teachers can take directly into their classrooms.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore how critical thinking can support learners in developing and communicating ideas, discover the latest Cambridge exams, qualifications and teaching resources, and work with experienced teacher educators on the strategies, structure and style that underpin effective academic writing.

Integrating Critical Thinking with Receptive and Productive Skills In today’s rapidly evolving global understanding of global citizenship both receptive and productive skills are essential. The younger students enjoy and use these skills the faster and easier they will be able to use them in real life more effectively. However, to master these skills it demands the integration of critical thinking to analyse, evaluate, and communicate meaningfully. In this workshop, we will look at the ways to actively turn receptive skills into productive skills by using critical thinking. We will also look at various examples to foster critical thinking by focusing on interactive strategies and practical activities, making reference to the Cambridge Life Competency Framework Activity Cards. |

Strategy, Structure, Style, and Assessment in Academic Writing This practical session explores academic writing as a process rather than a product, focusing on the strategies that help writers move from initial ideas to clear, well-structured and effective texts. Participants will consider approaches to planning, organising and developing ideas, drafting, revising and editing, while also exploring how structure and style contribute to clarity and academic voice. The session will also consider how clear assessment criteria and constructive feedback can support both the writing process and learners’ development as writers. |

Benjamin Herbert - Cambridge University Press & Assessment
Ben is a Professional Learning and Development Specialist for Cambridge University Press and Assessment and is based in Prague. He has trained teachers and spoken at conferences in various countries and has taught in different contexts for over 16 years in the Czech Republic, Jordan, Libya, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.
Ben has worked as a Cambridge CELTA Main Course Tutor, is DELTA-qualified, and is currently studying trainer development as part of his MA in Professional Development for Language Education.
Aniella Giorgiana Bușilă - Cambridge University Press & Assessment
Aniella Giorgiana Busila is an educator and teacher trainer who has served as a Cambridge Educational Consultant since 2009. She possesses extensive expertise in Cambridge English examinations and has prepared both students and teachers for the full spectrum of Cambridge English qualifications.
Aniella has delivered presentations at numerous professional and academic events across Romania and the Republic of Moldova, addressing audiences of educators, parents, and students alike. She has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to her ongoing professional development, endeavouring to continually enhance the educational outcomes of her students and trainees.
Aniella holds a degree in foreign languages, alongside the Cambridge English TKT, CELT-P, CELT-S, and CELTA teaching qualifications.
Teodora Naiba - British Council
Teodora started her teaching career in 1999 in Cluj-Napoca and has extensive experience in teacher training and online course moderation. She has worked both face-to-face and online with teachers from more than 100 countries and believes that teaching English provides a valuable opportunity to integrate a wide range of skills into education and inspire students.
Developing life skills through teaching and training, as well as exploring creative and innovative teaching methods while preserving essential educational values, have been among her key areas of interest.
Cristiana Oșan - British Council
Cristiana is a DELTA-certified teacher educator with over 17 years of experience. She has worked as a teacher educator, trainers’ trainer, online moderator, examiner for international certificates, and materials writer.
Cristiana has collaborated on various projects with thousands of teachers across more than 100 countries, bringing a wealth of knowledge, practical insight, and a global perspective to every session she delivers.
