The British Council's Code Club with LEGO SPIKE is a unique opportunity for children to learn useful 21st century skills and practise their English in a safe, fun environment. 
By the end of the club the participants will find out more about the practical uses of coding.
 
During the course, the students will work with the LEGO SPIKE sets to explore how software and hardware can work together to solve everyday problems. They will get introduced to block-based coding and learn how to programme their own inventions while interacting with the other children in the club.

Students aged 6 - 10 English level - minimum requirements
Students aged 11 - 14 English level A2 and above

Week

 Description

Week 1 & 6 Quirky Creat

 This week the children will create different quirky machines that help in every day life- from a waving machine to a rubbish monster machine, and from a high tech playground to a machine that chooses books to read.

Week 2 & 7 Amazing Amusement Park

 This week the children will create amazing amusement parks - from carousels and Ferris Wheels to swings and twirling teacups.

Week 3 & 8 – Great Adventures

 This week the children will create amazing machines to help them in their great adventures- from a device that helps you get your boat or submarine in the water, to a treehouse camp and an animal alarm.  

Week 4 & 9 – Crazy games

 This week the children will create crazy games, from a bowling maching and amaze, to a mini golf course and an obstacle course.

Week 5 & 10 – Happy Traveler

 This week the children will create amazing vehicles to help them get around- from buses to boats, and cable cars to helicopters.
