Meet the finalists

Andreea Ciforac

Andreea Ciforac is a third year Computer Science student at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. She has always enjoyed finding links between various fields of study. In the FameLab final she plans to explain the concept of quantum teleportation as clearly and captivatingly as possible. Aside from science, she also nourished her creativeside by painting, playing guitar, writing poems and short stories. 

Anna Cazanevscaia

Anna Cazanevscaia is a pharmacist and a PhD student in organic chemistry at the Faculty of Science and Environment, ,,Dunarea de Jos” University of Galați. She wants to use her passion for research to seek solutions to problems of humanity, and believes nature is the most valuable source of inspiration. Her research is focused on finding the connection between nature and human body, the essence of organic chemistry. Aside from research, Anna is passionate about landscape design. 

Beatrice Radu

Beatrice Radu is an Associate Professor at the University of Bucharest and a passionate neuroscientist who fell in love with science 19 years ago. She entered FameLab to improve her science communication skills, and plans to talk about the mechanisms of epilepsy in the national final. She has a 10 year old daugher who dreams of becoming an astronomer.

Cătălina Sabina Cremeneanu

Cătălina Sabina Cremeneanu is a second year medical student at the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest. She is passionat about interdisciplinary sciences such as space and medicine. She joined FameLab because she would like to invite the audience to step back and analyze all the space-related movies they have seen from a different point of view, and try to find the answer to the question "What happens to the human body in space?''.

Daniela Stoica

Daniela Stoica is a currently studying for a master's degree in Multimedia Technologies at the Politehnica University Timisoara and working as a software engineer. She joined FameLab because she wants to help other people understand the multuiple benefits of using the latest technologies, and in the final she plans to talk about the Internet of Things. She also enjoys volunteering and working with children.

Elena Georgiana Vîlvoi

Elena Georgiana Vîlvoi is a second year biology student at the 'Lucian Blaga' University of Sibiu, Faculty of Sciences. She chose biology because she is passionate about animals and plants, and feels closer to nature by studying it. Elena joined FameLab in order to overcome her nervousness when speaking in front of an audience and to talk about her passions - in the final, she will introduce the audience to several endangered species. 

Emil Niță

Emil Niță is a master's student at the Politehnica University of Bucharest, passionate about robotics and mechatronic engineering. He enjoys his studies and work because they make him feel like he can change the way the world evolvers. Emil joined FameLab to show people that engineers can speak the same language as anyone else, and he will talk about processing electric signals in the competition's final. He owns a tie collection. 

Ioana Iacob

Ioana Iacob is a second year Industrial Design student at the Politehnica University of Bucharest. She enjoys her field of study because it involves coming up with new ideas and concept that are both useful and aesthetic. She entered FameLab because she wants to share her knowledge with other people, and in the final plans to talk about sleep paralysis and how to fight monsters. She writes poems as a therapy method. 

Mădălina Blaga

Mădălina Blaga is a third year medical student at the University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Târgu-Mureș. She is fascinated by genetics and pharmacology. In her view, medicine is incredibly complex, but also amazingly well interconnected. FameLab has helped her evolve from explaining to individuals to explaining to wider audiences. Her question for everyone in the final is "Are we all the same in front of a drug?''. She has also been a snowboarding amateur for over 9 years. 

Mălina Strugaru

Mălina Strugaru is a first year physics student at the 'Alexandru Ioan Cuza' University in Iași. She loves physics because it's wild and surprising, and if offers her the highest dose of daily 'Aha!' moments. She says joined FameLab because 'sharing is caring', and she cares about science and people. In the final she will talk about one of our world's coolest and hardest to achieve things: self-organization. She has broken into her house three times, in three different ways.
