Director English Language Services

I took up the role of Director English Language Services in 2017 with responsibility for all our English language teaching activity in Romania. I started working for the British Council as a teacher of English in Egypt in 1988 and have since held leadership roles in English and Exams in Tunisia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, S. Korea, India and Hong Kong. Most recently I was Area Director Punjab, Pakistan where I led the project to reopen our libraries.

Country Exams Manager and Finance Manager

I joined British Council in July 2012. It was very challenging considering my previous professional background (Banking) but it turned out to be really exciting and attractive. I am Country Exams Manager and Finance Manager and both activities keep me enthusiastic and alert. My goal is to develop the exams market with a strong focus on business development and partnerships.
I love my profession and my team, and I am willing to invest all the resources available to achieve my goal.

Centre Manager, Iasi

I joined the British Council office in Iasi in 2003, as Customer Services Coordinator and became Centre Manager in 2010. English is at the core of my work as I manage the delivery of international exams (IELTS, Cambridge English, APTIS, ACCA), English courses, the professional development of English teachers and partnerships with schools and universities.
Outside work, I like good films with a focus on social issues, driving, biking and, more recently, horseback riding.

Centre Manager Cluj-Napoca

I joined the British Council in July 2013 as Centre Manager in Cluj-Napoca, coming from a background in finance and fund raising. Since then, it has been a continuous learning experience. Each day I get to do what I like most - interacting with people and helping them achieve their goals in the English language.
In my free time I’m either cooking for family and friends or on my bike going through the nearby hills.

Exams Business Development Manager

I have been working for the Examinations Department since 2009. I find my role both exciting and challenging. A mixture of sales, account management and marketing is the recipe of a job that makes me wake up in the morning and come to work with pleasure.
Moreover, it is due to the field the British Council operates in and also my previous experience in corporate sales of academic programmes that helped me gain a broad experience of working with multiple audiences and stakeholders.

Project Manager

I have recently joined the British Council Library team in Bucharest and I am constantly amazed by the people I meet here. Over the last 7 years I had various marketing roles which have taken me where I am now. My role is to manage our activities at the @British library, including a series of conversation clubs in English for children and adults.
When I am not in the office, I love spending time with my friends and studying interior design, a very dear hobby of mine.

Customer Services Manager

What I enjoy most in my work is connecting with people - customers and colleagues. The British Council has some of the highest standards of customer service in the world and that makes me even more devoted to my job. My other passions involve reading, cooking fancy desserts and hiking.
