This programme is structured in one-week stand-alone modules. Each module consists of 10 hours of English classes divided into 2 one-hour lessons a day, and 10 hours of activities and projects in English. The lessons are designed to cater for children’s natural curiosity about the world and are project-based.

Level

For Junior Lower and Higher:

Lower: 8-10 year old children graduates of Primary Infants1, 2, 3 and PP1, PP2. New students tested PP2/PP3.

Higher: 8-10 year old children graduates of PP3/ PP4/ PP5. New students tested PP4-PP6.

For Junior Starte: no previous knowledge of English required / beginner level.

Weekly Themes

Week 1 Junior Lower and Higher - Me & my world

This week will focus on the topics of the child's world around them. This week your child will:

  • learn about the specifities of the topics, such as the natural world, cities, and transport, 
  • learn relevant vocabulary and practice it through games, 
  • learn themed songs, and
  • complete a series of projects, arts and crafts activities and worksheets. 
Week 1 Junior Starter - All about me 

This week will focus on the topics of the child's personality. This week your child will:

  • learn about the specifities of the topics, such as what they like, dislike, and how to spoeak about this, 
  • learn relevant vocabulary and practice it through games, 
  • learn themed songs, and
  • complete a series of projects, arts and crafts activities and worksheets. 
Week 2 Junior Lower and Higher - Medieval tales

This week will focus on the topics of medieval history. This week your child will:

  • learn about the specifities of the topics, such as motte-and-bailey, stone keep anmd concentric castles, medieval deffence and tools, as well as the life of a knight,
  • learn relevant vocabulary and practice it through games, 
  • learn themed songs, and
  • complete a series of projects, arts and crafts activities and worksheets. 
Weel 2 Junior Starter - My picnic

This week will focus on the topics of food and beverages. This week your child will:

  • learn about the specifities of the topics, such as where to go for a picninc, what foods to bring, 
  • learn relevant vocabulary and practice it through games, 
  • learn themed songs, and
  • complete a series of projects, arts and crafts activities and worksheets. 
Week 3 Junior Lower and Higher - Spectacular Sports

This week will focus on the topics of sports. This week your child will:

  • learn about the specifities of the topics, such as extreme sports, sport equipment, 
  • learn relevant vocabulary and practice it through games, 
  • learn themed songs, and
  • complete a series of projects, arts and crafts activities and worksheets. 
Week 3 Junior Starter - My puppet

This week will focus on the topics of puppets. This week your child will:

  • learn about the specifities of the topics, such as body parts of a puppet,
  • learn relevant vocabulary and practice it through games, 
  • learn themed songs, and
  • complete a series of projects, arts and crafts activities and worksheets. 
Week 4 Junior Lower and Higher - Ancient civilizations

This week will focus on the topics of history. This week your child will:

  • learn about the specifities of the topics, such as the Ancient Rome or Ancient Egypt, 
  • learn relevant vocabulary and practice it through games, 
  • learn themed songs, and
  • complete a series of projects, arts and crafts activities and worksheets. 
Week 4 Junior Starter - At the farm

This week will focus on the topics of farm animals and activities. This week your child will:

  • learn about the specifities of the topics,  
  • learn relevant vocabulary and practice it through games, 
  • learn themed songs, and
  • complete a series of projects, arts and crafts activities and worksheets. 
Week 5 Junior Lower and Higher - Remarkable inventions

This week will focus on the topics of science and inventions. This week your child will:

  • learn about the specifities of the topics, such as scientists, inventors, and discoveries, 
  • learn relevant vocabulary and practice it through games, 
  • learn themed songs, and
  • complete a series of projects, arts and crafts activities and worksheets. 
Week 5 Junior Starter - At the park

This week will focus on the topics of outdoors. This week your child will:

  • learn about the specifities of the topics, such as walking in the park and other activities, 
  • learn relevant vocabulary and practice it through games, 
  • learn themed songs, and
  • complete a series of projects, arts and crafts activities and worksheets. 

Programme

Each theme is one week long.

Lessons and activities are from Monday to Friday, as follows:

  • 09:00 - 13:45
  • 14:30 - 19:15

Registration

All participants must have their level of English language fluency assessed through a free placement test offered by the British Council. Please, book a level test here.
