Designed to assess the English language skills of children aged between 7 and 12, the Cambridge English: Young Learners (YLE) exams are available at three assessment levels (Starters, Movers and Flyers) that encourage children to work by monitoring their progress.
Certificates received as a result of passing the Young Learners: Movers and Young Learners: Flyers English language exams administered by the British Council are recognised as a linguistic competency for the admission test to the 5th grade intensive classes (minimum level required: A1 according to CEFR), only if the total number of candidates wishing to enrol in such classes is lower than or the same as the number of places approved by MENCS. You can access the complete Regulamentul cadru 2016/2017, art 139 (7) here.
