Cambridge English block entry registrations

Young Learners exams

The Instructions for schools registering YLE candidates (see the Downloads section below) outline the registration procedure and the requirements for organising YLE exams on your premises.

If your school or institution is interested in organising YLE exams on its premises and can register at least 20 candidates, please contact us.

KET (for Schools), PET (for Schools), FCE (for Schools), CAE, CPE, BEC exams

You can register your candidates by email or online:

Step 1

Candidates' registration by email

Complete the Candidate Information Table for preparation centres (see the Downloads section below). Email your completed candidate information table and a copy of the payment proof to contact@britishcouncil.ro.

Or online

Before registering your candidates, contact us to request a username and password. You will then be able to register your candidates online, using the preparation centre portal. Email a copy of the  payment proof to contact@britishcouncil.ro, within two working days of online registration. These tutorials will tell you more about how to upload candidates and edit/search them.

Step 2

Terms and conditions

Every candidate or their parent/legal guardian (for candidates under 18 years old) must sign our Terms and Conditions for block entry candidates (see the Downloads section below). You must post the signed terms and conditions to the British Council centre (BucharestCluj or Iasi) that you wish to register with.

Step 3

Exam fee payment

You can find the exam fees listed on our dates, fees and locations page. The coordinating teacher is responsible for collecting the exam fees for all candidates registered on behalf of that school/institution. The whole amount will be transferred from the institution's account (if there is no bank account available, the transfer can be made in cash from Banca Transilvania) to British Council Exams, CUI 9000000026598, IBAN RO88 CITI 0000 0008 2601 2196, account open at Citibank Europe plc, Dublin – Bucharest.

Exam fee discounts for CAE candidates

A 10% exam fee discount is available for state school candidates taking CAE, who are in classes with bilingual or intensive English curriculum. It is offered exclusively to schools and only applies to block entry registrations.

This discount has been agreed by the British Council, the Romanian Ministry of Education and Cambridge English Language Assessment in 2012.

If applying for the discount, you must include proof that the candidates are enrolled in a bilingual or intensive programme along with the other registration documents. The proof could be a list of candidates in the relevant class, which has been stamped and signed by the school.

Become a test venue

Contact us if you represent a school or an institution interested in organising exams at your premises and can register at least 20 candidates per level (for paper based exams) or 15 per level (for computer based ones). Alternatively, we will also be able register your students for any session listed on the Cambridge English Language Assessment website

The institutions that wish to organise Cambridge English exams on their premises sign a partnership contract. The specific organisation requirements are mentioned in this parnership (which will be signed by both partners prior to the exam), while the general conditions are mentioned in the Partnership Agreement found in the Downloads section below.

Test day photography
