What is the Cambridge B2 First exam? 

The B2 First is an upper-intermediate qualification (Level B2 on the CEFR). It is globally recognised by thousands of industrial, administrative, and service-based employers, as well as educational institutions.

Recognition in Romania: This exam is recognised as a linguistic competency for students in bilingual and intensive classes. Furthermore, it can be used to equate the English exam within the Romanian Baccalaureate if passed with a score between 160–190 points.

A passing grade for the B2 First exam starts at 160. Results are reported as follows to help you understand your achievement:

  • 180–190 (Grade A): You have demonstrated ability at a C1 level.
  • 173–179 (Grade B): You have successfully achieved the B2 level with a high score.
  • 160–172 (Grade C): You have successfully achieved the B2 level.
  • 140–159 (Level B1): If your performance falls below B2 level but within the B1 range, you will receive a certificate recognising your ability at Level B1.
