Sadly, my last blog from Romania - I'm sorry to be leaving such a lovely country but also delighted by how much we have achieved since the English for the Community project began in November 2017. Our latest event involved meetings with our Country Trainers, Local Facilitators and school inspectors. Our new team of Local Facilitators were selected in March 2018 and two Local Facilitators will be setting up Teacher Activity Groups in each of the nine locations we work in from May 2018.
Together with our nine Country Trainers, we met over two weekends at the end of April to discuss how Teacher Activity Groups contribute to continuing professional development, look at the materials and procedures that have been designed to support the groups and experiment and try out techniques and activities for the groups. On April 30, Country Trainers met to discuss the findings of our January 2018 baseline study and look at activities that are planned for the next two years. We also had the pleasure of sharing the baseline findings and principles of Teacher Activity groups with school inspectors who have been involved with the project from the beginning.
On April 27, the British Ambassador, Paul Brummell, invited everybody involved to a reception at the Embassy for a terrific networking event. It was a great way to conclude. I'm on my way but our Teacher Activity Groups will run and run.
La revedere, România!
